to many errors/ not worth the money

This text book has numerous errors in it. During the course of my Immunohematology class the number of errors that were seen in this book keeps going up. We have emailed the publisher/ company/ writer, but have never gotten a response. My classmates used a total of three different texts for this class and the Quinley text disagreed with the other two and when verified with the internet sources Quinley was usually incorrect. Huge disagreements in antigen/ antibody characteristics. Other big Typos's.. An example is on P292 under unit selection for transfusion of infants after birth. The text refers to "Box 16-4" for the formula on how to calculate the reconstitution of a unit after centrifugation. Box 16-4 actually contains a list of clinical indications for administration of RHIG. The actual needed formula is not listed. I will definetely get rid of this text once the class is finished.

There are not enough harsh words to describe the hot mess of this unfortunate text book. I simply could not believe the gross numbers of factual and grammatical errors that could exist in one text and that all of them escaped the attention of the author and the editors?! These people could not possibly be authorities in the field of transfusion medicine. Please do not waste your valuable time and hard earned cash on this text. I gave up on this text after a couple of weeks and ended up purchasing "Modern Blood Banking & Transfusion Practices" by Denise Harmening. I had previously used and was very pleased with Harmening's Hematology text and knew her Blood Banking text would not disappoint. It is written clearly, concisely, and without errors.

terrible textbook

This book is terrible. I have purchased many science texts, and this is by far the least useful. Several of the students in my class (including me) stopped reading the book altogether by mid-semester and turned to google and youtube to find course material to study. It might be useful as a reference book.
If your instructor has adopted this text, you have my sympathy.
