“What kind are they? They’re huge.”
“They’re Bengal cats. Bengals are a hybrid. A cross between a domestic cat and an Asian Leopard Cat. It’s a relatively new breed. Most have . . .” Malone’s face said TMI. Fair enough, more info than he’d been looking for.
“I imagine you know I’m here about Ms. Bardot?” Malone was suddenly all business.
“Yes.” I held my breath and hoped for good news.
“Caro.” He paused. “She didn’t make it.”
“She—” I felt my throat close, and I swallowed hard trying to get control of my emotions. “Too many injuries?” I finally asked. Whatever her emergency had been, it had seemed to upset her. She’d been shaken, and Kitty was never shaken. I remembered her voice as she’d asked me to take care of Tobey and Minou and get them home. The cats. What would happen to the cats now? “Was she driving too fast?”
“Not exactly.” Malone’s voice was serious and grim. “We won’t know until we have a lot more information from the crime lab. It’s too soon to tell, but it may have been a case of road rage. Kitty Bardot was shot.”
Sparkle Abbey is the pseudonym of two mystery authors (Mary Lee Woods and Anita Carter). They are friends and neighbors as well as co-writers of the Pampered Pets Mystery Series. The Pen name was created by combining the names of their rescue pets – Sparkle (Mary Lee’s cat) and Abbey (Anita’s dog). A Fun Novella Mystery

In this third novella of the 'A Pampered Pets Mystery' series, the author has us laughing, shocked, following along on chase scenes out of a Hollywood blockbuster movie, and still wondering 'Why?' until the ending when all is disclosed.
Pet therapist, Caro Lamont, has a bustling practice in Laguna Beach, California. Business is up, and Caro has a love interest, that she is interested in, and except for her cousin, Melinda who keeps stealing their Grandmother's broach, life is good.
Then the unthinkable happens, Caro's next door neighbor, a sought after Publicist and owner of two Bengal painting cats, is murdered. Caro finds herself aiding the homicide detective and trying to keep a watch on the Publicist's newly found Sister, as she tries to keep herself safe from the killer. Why are they attacking Caro? Caro wants to know as well.
This book is a laughing homicide. The Sister is inspired. Yes, she has a name but that would spoil a classic comic moment if I disclosed it, so I won't.
This is a novella and a quick read. Take it with you on your commute or to the beach. Be sure to give it as a gift to a friend, or someone you have just met at a restaurant, after you have finished both the book and your meal. You will make life long friends and mystery readers. Enjoy!

One sweet killer of a mystery!

Looking for a little laughter and a light hearted mystery? Love cats and pups? Then you'll love this sweet mystery with its pet psychologist, Caro Lamont, investigating her neighbor's murder amid the opening of the newest cat paintings at California hot spot, Laguna Beach. You'll meet her murdered neighbor's long lost sister straight from the heartland and together they are a hoot as they try to track down the killer.
This is one sweet killer of a mystery!

A Humorous Romp!

"Kitty Kitty Bang Bang" is a delightful and humorous tale set in ritzy Laguna Beach where all the elite own kitties, pooches or both. In this story the heroine Caro Lamont, a pet therapist, has been asked by her neighbour Kitty Bardot if she'll take home her two hybrid Bengal cats because she has urgent business. What Caro doesn't expect is that Kitty will be killed and that she will become embroiled in her mysterious death. Into this baffling case is plunged a long lost sister who's endowed with a touch of larceny as well as Tobey and Minou, Kitty's artistic cats. In this world of the rich and famous, the arrogant and proud, Caro's investigation may not only jeopardize her life , but Kitty's sister's as well, much to the consternation of Detective Judd Malone.
And if the murder mystery wasn't enough to titillate the reader's interest, Sparkle Abbey has added a feud between Caro and her cousin Melinda Langston, the owner of the Bow Wow Boutique over the ownership of an antique brooch that both want.
I loved the characters whose personalities come alive in the pages of this story; the dedicated and determined Caro Lamont who finds herself in a clash of wills with the stern police detective Judd Malone, the good-natured, eccentric April-Mae-You-Can-Call-Me June, the devious Melinda, and the calm and caring Sam Gallanos. I was captivated by the chemistry between Caro and Malone while she still seems enamoured by the handsome Sam Gallanos; both romances worth watching. This charming tale with its multiple layers of cats and dogs, its humorous pokes at the lifestyle of Laguna Beaches' elite has an unexpected ending and I can't wait to read another in the series. I highly recommend it.
