About the Author
Esteban Contreras is the founder of Social Nerdia Consulting, an Account Director for NYC-based Sprinklr, Inc., and an advisor to several startups and small businesses. Esteban is also the former Social Media Marketing Manager for Samsung USA, where he led the strategy of the brand's U.S. social media presence.
A writer at heart, Esteban has been blogging at socialnerdia.com about the convergence of technology, marketing and social media since 2009. Just read "Social State" cover to cover...it was more than a read it was an experience!
Honestly, as a "low tech" gal I wondered if I would even get through it!
It is written wonderfully,very fluid and easy to understand... I feel like I've learnt ALOT and all the links made it enjoyably interactive...I literally laughed and cried!

I have enjoyed everything he has written in the past year I have known him. His work is factual and interesting, it borders on scientific analysis applied to social media without actually going there. The general person can not only understand it, but with his info-graphics and informative data, just about anyone can visualize what Esteban is reporting on and how it is changing so rapidly.

In SOCIAL STATE, Esteban Contreras skillfully provides an easy to follow overview of how we reached this moment in social - and makes the case of the business relevance of social media. While that may be obvious for many, it is the most asked question in the college classes that I teach (Social Media for Business). I use material from the book in the classes, and appreciate the links to fresh data from solid sources.
