About the Author
Douglas J. Simpson is the author of John Dewey and a coauthor of John Dewey and the Art of Teaching: Toward Reflective and Imaginative Practice. He holds the Helen DeVitt Jones Chair in Teacher Education in the department of curriculum and instruction at Texas Tech University.
Sam F. Stack Jr. is a professor of social and cultural foundations of education at West Virginia University. He is the author of Elsie Ripley Clapp (1879–1965): Her Life and the Community School.

Course Textbook - Required For a Class

We were required to read this this as doctoral students for a John Dewey course. Glad that there is an option to purchase it electronically. Meanwhile, it's a fairly easy read with plenty of headings and sub-headings to help quickly reference information. It also seems like a pretty comprehensive look at Dewey's theory of education. Great if you are studying his work, writing a paper, presenting, etc.
